Wazeefa

After Grand Shaykh, Khwaja Sufi Muhammad Aslam Rahimahullah took initiation into the Naqshbandi Tareeqah with Grand Master, Khwaja Sufi Muhammad Nawabuddin Rahimahullah, he was gifted with the Wazeefa and was instructed to recite this daily.

Grand Shaykh spent the previous 10 years practising the Qadiri awraad at the maqam of Khwaaja Peer-e-Shah Ghazi Sarkar Rahimahullah and began to contemplate that years after being subject to such lengthy awraad, how effective will such a short Wazeefa be?

Later on that night, Grand Shaykh Rahimahullah  had a vision where he saw his heart stationery.  Although the Grand Shaykh Rahimahullah had performed much DhikrUllah ﷻ, his heart was still not active in Dhikr. He then saw Khwaja Nawabuddin Rahimahullah who gazed at his heart and signalled towards it. He slightly spat towards it and a drop of saliva landed on the heart. The heart then became active in the remembrance of Allah ﷻ and has not stopped ever since.

This illustrates that although the Wazeefa may be short, it is vast in blessings.

The Wazeefa is given by the Shaykh to the new student after initiation into the Tareeqah.

The Wazeefa is as follows:

100 times –  Salawat al Khidri

صَلَّى اللهُ  عَلٰى حَبِيْبِهٖ  مُحَمَّدٍ  وَّاٰ لِهٖ  وَاَصْحَابِهٖ  وَسَلَّمْ

SallAllaahu ‘alaa Habeebihee Muhammadiw wa Aalihee wa as-Haabihee wa Sallam.
Salutations of Allah ﷻ be upon His Beloved Muhammad SallallahuAlayhi Wasallam – and his family and his companions – and peace (be upon them)!

300 times –  Dua

يَاحَيُّ  يَاقَيُّوْم

Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyum
O Ever-Living One! O Upholding One!

100 times –  Salawat al Khidri

صَلَّى اللهُ  عَلٰى حَبِيْبِهٖ  مُحَمَّدٍ  وَّاٰ لِهٖ  وَاَصْحَابِهٖ  وَسَلَّمْ

SallAllaahu ‘alaa Habeebihee Muhammadiw wa Aalihee wa as-Haabihee wa Sallam.
Salutations of Allah ﷻ be upon His Beloved Muhammad SallallahuAlayhi Wasallam – and his family and his companions – and peace (be upon them)!

Once recited, blow on your hands and wipe your face, the chest where your heart resides and then the rest of your body.

The Shaykh has mentioned,

“This is your Dua (prayer) and your Davā’ī (medicine) and will maintain your raabita (connection with the Shaykh) as long as it has been read with sincerity.”

Method

It is instructed by the Masters of Tareeqah to recite this Wazeefa before or after the Fajr Salah ideally. If it isn’t recited in this blessed time then it should be completed before the `Isha’ Salah. The key is to recite with sincerity; to visualise one’s Shaykh is preferable; the Wazeefa is a means to strengthen the spiritual connection between the student and the Shaykh.

Important note: it is vital that the student remains steadfast in the recitation of the Wazeefa in order to maintain Raabita (connection) with the Shaykh, only then will the benefits of Bay`ah shall be felt.
